George IV, Half Sovereign, 1821, very rare, first laureate head facing left, Bernedetto Pistrucci sculptor, signed BP, (S.3802)
Note: because of the similarity in design to the sixpence of the same year, which forgers would gild in order to pass as a half sovereign, the minting was halted at 231,288 pieces until a new reverse design was produced for 1823.
