Waterloo and Peninsular medals and clasps, awarded to Colonel Henry Dawkins, Coldstream Guards, 2nd Batallion, 1815 and 1848, inscribed, Major of the Brigade of Guards, the Peninsular medal with bars for Nive, Nivelle, Vittoria, Salamanca, Ciudad Rodrigo and Fuentes D'Onor, together with the gilt metal and silver Gorget worn by Colonel Dawkins at Waterloo, with original blue rosettes and ribbons, together with transcripts of the letters written Dawkins directly after the battle of Waterloo and other documenting the Peninsular War campaigns, the letter to his father dated June 19 1815 from Camp Brain La Lund, the morning after the battle, the letter to his mother dated June 22 1815 from the Camp in front of Bavey; both letters detail the casualties of the battle as well as general events.
