British Art & Design
16th April 2026
(Closing date for entries 17th February)

Introduced as a new sale category for 2026, this auction explores the evolution of Modern British art in conversation with design from 1900 to the present day. Paintings will be shown alongside sculpture, ceramics, and furniture, encouraging a dialogue between disciplines.

The sale will focus on defining moments such as the Art Deco and Modernist movements of the 1930s, the creative energy of the Swinging Sixties, and the diverse practises shaping art and design today.

We are actively seeking works by designers, including; Clarice Cliff, Omar Ramsden and Stuart Devlin to sit alongside paintings, prints and multiples by Paul Nash, John Piper and Elizabeth Frink. The auction includes a special focus on sculpture with works by Elizabeth Frink, Margaret Lovell, and Peter Beard already consigned. Furniture and textiles by Betty Joel, Ambrose Heal and Lucienne Day will form a complimentary backdrop to these works within the gallery.
