Victor Mayer for Fabergé, 'Millennium Egg', limited edition number 6 of 12, 18ct white gold, the guilloche enamel egg with dual hinged covers, the four column supports with lion head terminals, atop a stepped lapis lazuli foot, the interior contains an applied dove of peace, in white opal, the underside of the base hallmarked for 18ct gold, Edinburgh 1999, also struck with the Millenium mark, sponsor's mark GW, height 13cm approx, ensuite with the original purchase receipt, and a Faberge certificate noting a diamond weight of 2.64ct., and a sapphire weight of 0.40ct., with a fitted presentation case and outer box

Provenance: Private collection, United Kingdom, purchased 29 November 1999, and thence by descent

Note: The German jewellery house Victor Mayer was founded in Pforzheim in 1890. From 1989 to 2009, Victor Mayer held the Fabergé licence to create jewellery and works of art. In 1996, Victor Mayer’s creations were exhibited alongside those of Peter Carl Fabergé at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York
