T G Jackson for James Powell and Sons, Whitefriars, an Arts and Crafts wine glass, model 2101, circa 1870 for William Morris and Company, dark green, the flared double ogee bowl on an inverse baluster stem and conical foot with polished pontil, 14.5cm high

Note: arguably Sir Thomas Graham Jacksons most iconic glass design, the large wine glass, as part of an extensive table service, was retailed through Morris and Co. and used in several important Arts and Crafts commissions, including Wightwick Manor. The first drawn design, which includes this glass, a decanter and Champagne saucer, is signed and dated 1870 and reproduced in Apollo magazine 1930; extensive design records photographs in the Museum of London are reproduced in Rudoe J & Coutts, H,1992, Table Glass Designs of Phillip Webb and T. G. Jackson for James Powell & Sons, Whitefriars Glassworks, Decorative Art Society Journal, vol16, pp.35-39. Examples of this glass also appear in international museum collections
